While they signify the end to some, they ignite the hope of healing and new beginnings for many others. It helps us to look beyond the darkness and tread towards the ray of hope. "Beyond Epilogue" marks the initiations of these new beginnings.
1Life pathLife and death are closely connected. The life path is an endless process from birth to the moment of physical death. Our project calls to think about how transient our earthly path is and how great this path is in afterlife.
3The Light of Rebirth -- Urban Cemetery Design Death is both the end and the beginning. It's both the passing and the birth. Death is valuable, and can still play a role in the world in another way . In nature, death makes life. Through the natural death and utilization of the individual, nature is constantly realizing new life, continuing in another way of life, so as to maintain vitality forever.
2Life CircleThe cemetery space coexisting with nature is created after studying the death culture and exploring the boundary between space and nature. Space intervention is used to improve people’s fear of death and exclusion of death topics, and the ways to have emotional sustenance and recall are also deeply studied.
2Comer&Passerby .Exploring the meaning of lifeIn ancient China, the dead were regarded as "Comer" , while the living people were regarded as "passerby".Comers are gone, so passerbys have to keep going.
1〇The notion of design is based on the concept of cycle. Death is not the end of life, but the beginning of another. Life and death form a closed loop rather than a single threaded line. And the loop, is the focus of our design.
2Re-BirthDeath was a taboo in our society for a long time now, but strangely, when we look at the myths and religious stories, death leads to a new life, a beginning. Therefore, the aim of the project is to convince the mourning people to a new beginning and to take other people to wander through the area without the fear of being in a cemetery.
1Circle of Life: Visiting DeathWhen death dawns, a light in the living goes out. Although mortal ties were severed, the spiritual connection prevails. The urban cemetery project seeks to allude to the missing among the mortal and the presence of the deceased. Through self-reflection, understanding and respect, life is brought face-to-face with death.
