33MANGH HOUSEThe design is about a dwelling, in the old city of Jodhpur in the Hot and Dry state of Rajasthan in India. The user is a designer and exporter of handicrafts and artifacts. It revolves around catering to a residence for a family of 6 people. The key elements are ventilation and sunlight.
75Institutional Excellence AwardFlower of the DesertChoosing arid climate and Following Biomimetic design, we came to across a plant that lives in the Namibia desert, Welwitschia which is extremely sustainable in Arid areas and lives about 1000 to 1500 years. The unusual form of this plant keeps the soil under the plant cool and moist. The thick leaves lay on the sand surface and prevent wind erosion aswell.
2WinnerBeira Mar HouseBuilt on a plot of land measuring 30 meters long and 2.5 meters wide, it formally establishes itself as a habitable corridor, which, from the moment of entry, is filled with moments of darkness, light, surprise, discovery, compression and, lastly, release… the backyard patio!
11Forward Thinking SchoolThe aim of this design is to redefine the idea of a study space. Classroom is a place where students seek to connect with nature and to collaborate with others. Therefore, a universal concept could be where all design elements can meet to create a healthy learning atmosphere - away from the complicity or the typicality of the design.
