Rather than following universal design principles, these structures emerge from generations of accumulated knowledge about what works in specific places.The community explores how designers and architects engage with vernacular traditions through restoration, reinterpretation, and contemporary application. Projects range from preserving historic structures like granite houses in Portugal and volcanic rock dwellings in Hainan to creating new buildings that honor local materials, forms, and spatial conventions across India and beyond.
