SQUANGLE is the project of willa, which is based on the creation of a living space by squares. One of the main assumptions is to create a comfortable space for a family, which fully uses the existing resources of the landscape and nature. In designing the cultural centre, several factors had to be taken into account in such an unusual location. One of them was, for example, hot climate conditions. The pavilion is a medium size structure performing like a gigantic eye. Looking at the water surface within the iris-like void, enhances infinity through sky reflection over the water; connecting the surface and the sky to create a sense of limitlessness within that small canopy. The result is an illusive boundary of the whole structure.

Labuan Bajo, the upcoming "new Bali", is currently being developed as one of the best Indonesia travel destinations. To preserve local culture and the natural ecosystem, Bajo-Boo explored the potential of bamboo as the structure and skin of the pavilion.

The concept is to explore about a beautiful, tiny flying squirrel which is on the verge of extinction due to habitat loss. Pavilion is integrated with terrace swimming pool which is used for both shade & breakout space. Reflection from the water & sun shade during evenings gives a pleasant feel. “PAVILION AS A PLACE FOR PEOPLE TO FLY WITHOUT BOUNDARIES”
