Green Future - Render Design Challenge
Overview

GREEN FUTURE
The 21st century has changed the way of how humans live. Climate change and pollution have made us rethink our lifestyle and our place in the universe. We have since tried our best to take steps to create a liveable environment for ourselves and sustain Earth.
While we strive to improve our relationship with nature, it has pushed us to lead green movements. As we evaluate industries, construction is found to be a major polluter and resource consumption, so to offset its effects, new materials and technologies are being opted by professionals.
The technique of biophilic architecture is on the rise, where we envision structures that incorporate or replicate the systems and forms of elements found in nature, to create environments for the well-being of its occupants. If the acceptance of the green revolution becomes widespread, it would change the way we build and design the world around us.
Can you envision this green future?

SCENARIO
Let’s skip ahead a few decades in the future, and imagine that it’s the year 2100. We have managed to survive through the climate battle with the collaboration and cooperation of world governments and the citizens. Not only is there harmony in the human colony, but we have managed to restore the balance in nature that was previously disrupted by corrupted human activities. In such a world, our structures are built organically, and embedded with nature so we co-exist as one.
What would such a world look like? Will we make our way towards a green future in time? Can you imagine a tower that is to be designed in such a setting?
How will people adapt to the experience of living as one with nature? What would be the role of technology in this? Can humans revert back to their basic nature where early men and women lived in forest terrains?

BRIEF OF THE COMPETITION
The challenge is to create renders for a mixed-use tower in the green future. Envision the design for ourselves in the 22nd century.
Previously, when we talked about the future, the vision of robotics and flying cars would be the first thing that popped into our heads. Many times, a dystopian future is imagined where only a few people from the human species make it. But how about we start to imagine what our cities would look like in the sustainable future?
The render must be focused on the tower or skyscraper architecture set against a futuristic background. The tower must be of a height of more than 30 floors of residential or mixed nature. The interior layout is not to be proposed.
If we are able to correct our actions and survive, How will the new world be shaped? What steps would have had to be taken to sustain? Can we create a new design for our cities in which nature and we can live as one?
OBJECTIVES
- Research: Research and investigate the upcoming sustainable technologies and how it will affect today’s world.
- Technical: Try to express through design/engineering how the tower will work and sustain.
- Expression: The graphic should effectively communicate its intent and landscape to the viewer.
CONSTRAINTS
You may present your work in the form of illustrations/images or 3D renderings. The design must clearly communicate the futuristic context and how you perceive the tower in it.
DELIVERABLES
You have to deliver a graphic/visual outcome representing the given theme, based on the following outlines. The images should be of size [2800px x 3200px] in portrait or landscape digital format (JPEG only).
The graphic may be entirely hand-drawn and rendered, digitally created, or a combination of both. The usage of photographs, stylized/credited or otherwise, directly is strictly not allowed.
The use of lassoed graphics lifted from an existing image is limited to half of the total graphic. (The guidelines are indicative, and are placed only to reduce plagiarized artworks – any infringement detected or reported will be notified, and may be removed from competition if found guilty)
The list of deliverables are:
1. Title
2. Subtitle
3. 3D renderings x 3
4. A few process images
5. Additional cover image of 2000px x 1000px
6. A statement in about 200 words supporting the visuals - You can attach this as an additional image below your artwork.
