Amit Gupta
Founding Partner, Studio Symbiosios, India
Amit Gupta is the Founding Partner of Studio Symbiosis, an architectural practice based out of Delhi and Stuttgart. Born in Delhi, he moved to London in 2004 to commence his Masters in Architecture and Urbanism from Architectural Association and upon graduation he joined Zaha Hadid Architects from 2006 till 2010. He also taught at Amity School of Architecture, Delhi NCR and has been super jury at AYDA Kuala Lumpur. Amit started his own practice in Delhi in 2010 by winning the prestigious Athletic Ripples sports complex. Studio Symbiosis has since been involved in projects of various scales and sectors. Computational design overlapped with sustainable design solutions are used by him to achieve a rich spatial landscape creating a performance driven space. He has won a number of International awards including, German Design Award, Iconic Award, International Property awards, A Design award, most innovative hotel architect of the year, World Architecture Community, to name a few. Recently he won 40 under 40 award Asia. He gave a TEDx talk at Bremen Germany 2015 on the topic of “Performative Aesthetics”. Alongside he also spoke at Smart Geometry Hong Kong, A.A. visiting School Bangalore and Delhi. CNN style covered the work done by him at Studio Symbiosis as a feature, which was titled “These rising architectural stars could change India’s skylines forever”.
Britta Knobel
Founding Partner, Studio Symbiosis, India
Born in Stuttgart Germany, Britta Knobel Gupta commenced her Architectural studies in Konstanz and Lyon. She moved to London in 2004 to study M. Arch and urbanism at Architectural Association School of Architecture London. In 2006 she joined Zaha Hadid Architects and was involved in a number of seminal projects as Lead Project Architect which attained international acclaim; Abu Dhabi Performing Arts Centre, Broad Art Museum in Michigan, Dubai opera house. She has also been teaching in various architectural schools in Britain, Germany and India. She has been awarded with the prestigious 40 under 40 Europe (the next new talented generation of European architects and designers) in 2014, alongside she has also been awarded with International property award for Best Hotel project of the year, Finalist in WAF and Judge at WAF to be held in November ’17, Estrade International Award, Iconic Award, German Design award and Golden A’ Design Award. As an invited speaker she gave prominent talks at TEDx Germany, Smart Geometry Hong Kong and CIBF Congress by AIT in Hamburg Germany and got featured in CNN. Just recently won the best hospitality architect of the year 2017 from IDE.
