Jarle Slyngstad
Designer MNIL, Jarle Slyngstad Industrial Design, Norway
Jarle Slyngstad live and work in Sykkylven, Norway where he runs his design studio in an old discontinued furniture factory. With a fully equipped workshop, showrooms and office facilities he deliver his designs on different platforms: sketches, 3d-renders, cad-models, VR-models, 3D-printed models, mock-ups and full scale models ready for industrialization. For Jarle it is very important to have this nearness to the physical prototyping, especially with respect to ergonomy and dimensioning. His work as a designer springs from a strong urge to create. This urge leads him into new landscapes with new challenges. The challenges are the mechanism that triggers the spark energy to solve problems. Good design is simple answers to complex questions. The aesthetics of the design springs from the simplicity of the solution. This is also the characteristic of Scandinavian Design. In times with a strong focus on the environment, it is a paradox that we create more and more products. Jarle Slyngstad`s approach will always be to create products you will love and will last long. He thinks this is the best way to meet enviromental sustainability. His most successful products has been in production for more than 30 years. Jarle Slyngstad is member of Norwegian Federation of Interior and Furniture Designers NIL/IFI. He has been awarded in several national and international competitions.
