Kazi Fida Islam graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 2007. He started working in a consultancy firm after his graduation in the same year. From 2008-2010, he worked as a Senior Architect in another consultancy firm. After that, He worked as a lead architect in a reputed architectural firm in Bangladesh from 2011 to 2015. With 9 years of experience, he co-founded his own firm “River & Rain” in the year 2015. His works have received appraisals and honorable prizes including The Institute of Architects Bangladesh’s best design award 2018 for Himchori Residence in the residential architecture category. His practice has a focus to develop a contemporary design syntax by approaching architecture as a synthesis of tranquility and spirit of context. The pattern of his works includes quality space which allows him to submerge his work in solidarity that blends with site and surroundings. Preference of composite structure is observable in his work where he focuses on space utilization based on functional and aesthetic value and green incorporation. Treatment of view, ventilation and circulation can be appended to his work approach.

Teacher since 2010 at Universidad Andrés Bello, taught at the University Major in the period 2017-18 and Central University in 2013. Awards Nominated in 2016 for the Oscar Niemeyer Award for Latin American Architecture with Shelter for a Mountaineer at the BAQ Biennial. Selected by Architecture Platform as Top Projects 2016 with Proingas Offices. Awarded by American Architectura Prize 2017 Small Architecture, in New York and German Desing Awards 2019 in Frankfort with the project Shelter for a Mountaineer.
