Residence Rush

Jana is a partner and a co-founder of the Prague based studio Boq architekti. The studio is engaged in various projects, especially in the area of residential housing, specializing in small spaces. In their designs, they address the issue of the lack of space while maintaining maximum user comfort. The studio has had successes in the domestic architecture scene, such as the nomination for the Czech Architecture Award 2019, Interior of the Year finalist, and international awards as well, for example, Young Architects Competitions finalist mention.

Besian Mehmeti founded BMA in 2012 after many years of collaborative and free-lance experience in the fields of architecture, urbanism and design. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Skopje and ever since he has been engaged in numerous projects and winning competition designs including the Scanderbeg Square in Skopje, The City Library and Theater in Tetovo and most recently a new Primary School in Skopje, which was awarded the National Grand Annual Architecture Award for 2019. Last year, the Macedonian Chamber of Architects and Engineers granted the award named prof. Boris Chipan for 2020 for contribution to the development of the architectural profession. He has participated in several exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale in 2012 and an exhibition in New York in 2019. Lately, he has been invited as guest lecturer in symposiums, formal and informal architecture events. Alongside his architectural practice, Besian has been active as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Architecture in Skopje, UACS School of Architecture and Design and the Architecture Department at the Tetovo University.
