Rok Jereb
Founder & Partner, Jereb in Budja arhitekti d.o.o., Slovenia
Rok Jereb graduated in Ljubljana Faculty of Architecture in year 2002 and started working as a freelance architect in Slovenija, later also in Melbourne, Australia. He joined local architectural office as a project manager and in 2007 co-founded Jereb in Budja arhitekti. Rok is active in the field of architecture, urban planning and focuses on architectural competitions, local and international. He focuses strongly on thoughtful and detailed architecture, emphasising relations between the local environment, functionality and the client. Jereb in Budja won several architectural competitions: Sports hall Stopiče (Novo Mesto, Slovenija), Ljubljana main train station (in collaboration, Slovenija), Kokra Canyon revitalisation (Kranj, Slovenija), Social housing (Ivančna Gorica, Slovenija) and others. Their projects were awarded with numerous local and international awards: Plečnik Medal 2012, Plečnik Medal 2015, Plečnik Award 2017, Golden Pencil Award 2017 and 2018, VI. Minsk International Biennale of Young Architects “Leonardo 2015” 2nd award, nomination European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award 2012, 2017, 2019. Rok regularly lectures about architecture on various architectural events abroad and locally.
Che-Fu Chang
Principal, Che Fu Chang Architects, Taiwan
Che Fu Chang Architects is an urbanism-focused architect firm based in Taipei Taiwan founded by its principal Steven Che Fu Chang in 1978. Steven C.F. Chang started his own practice after a long period working in the prestigious Edward Larrabee Barnes Associates in the US for nine years. Since then, Mr. Chang had won numerous awards for his diverse works. His notable works include the National Museum of Taiwan, Administration Building of Tung Ho Steel, Taipei Daan Park MRT Station. He was awarded the 8th Awarding of National Outstanding Architects in 2007. Mr. Chang published “Selfless Architecture” in 2017 to share his experience and to appeal for dialogues between architecture and citizens. The office recently focuses more on industrial and hospitality projects, with aspirations of mixing playful and practical ideas into a smart architectural solution.
Emilio Alvarez Abouchard
Director, EMILIO ALVAREZ ABOUCHARD ARQUITECTURA, Mexico
Emilio Alvarez Abouchard founded his architecture studio in 2017 and has completed various projects in Mexico such as the X-Ray Facility and the Avenida Central Building. Prior, he collaborated with architects Manuel Cervantes Céspedes (CC Arquitectos) and Bernardo Gómez-Pimienta (bgp arquitectura) in Mexico City; and Gilberto L. Rodríguez (GLR Arquitectos) in Monterrey. He earned his architecture degree from ITESM in Monterrey, Mexico; and attended to ETSAM in Madrid as a visiting student where he took part of the Cátedra Blanca CEMEX leaded by the Spanish architect Alberto Campo Baeza.
