A Dialogue Between History and Contemporary Design

The renovation of Apartment SL redefines the relationship between past and present. BRH+ approached the project as a “design laboratory,” balancing the historic character of the 1841 building with the needs of a contemporary art-collecting family. The interior design pays homage to the original 19th-century features while introducing custom-made furniture, refined materials, and tailored solutions that highlight the owners' extensive art collection.

At the same time, innovative plant engineering systems were discreetly integrated to elevate the apartment’s thermal and energy efficiency without disrupting its historical value.

Custom-Made Interiors and Art Integration

The entrance sets the tone for the home’s artistic narrative. Painted in an intense octanium hue, it features a bold polychrome fresco by contemporary artist Victoria Stoian. Custom wall furniture seamlessly integrates display units for artwork with concealed storage, creating a fluid balance between function and aesthetics.
