Computational Design & Education: Beegraphy Design Awards Introduces 7th Category (Featuring Jiyun's Innovative Approach)
Dive into Beegraphy’s 7th Design Awards category, where computational design meets education to create immersive, interactive learning tools, inspired by Jiyun’s work.
As part of the Beegraphy Computational Design Challenge series, we're excited to announce the introduction of our 7th category: Education. This new category celebrates the groundbreaking potential of computational design to transform learning experiences and empower educators and students alike.
Bridging the Gap Between Design and Learning
Computational design, with its ability to create dynamic, interactive, and visually engaging experiences, holds immense promise for revolutionizing education. By harnessing the power of parametric modeling and AR/VR technologies, we can unlock new dimensions of learning that were previously unimaginable.
The Education category of the Beegraphy Design Awards challenges participants to leverage the Beegraphy platform to create innovative learning tools and experiences that enhance understanding, spark curiosity, and foster deeper engagement with various subjects. Whether it's exploring the intricacies of the human body, diving into the depths of the ocean, or unraveling complex mathematical concepts, the possibilities are limitless.
Jiyun's Inspiring Journey: A Case Study in Innovation
One educator who exemplifies the transformative power of computational design in Math education is Jiyun, CEO of GoMath Academy and a mathematics teacher from Korea. Recognizing the challenges students face in grasping abstract mathematical concepts, Jiyun turned to Beegraphy to create interactive visualizations of complex geometries that bring these concepts to life.
We recently, hosted an online workshop with Jiyun. Using Beegraphy's intuitive interface and powerful parametric tools, Jiyun developed engaging lessons that allow students to manipulate geometric shapes, explore equations in 3D space, and interact with dynamic graphs. This hands-on approach has not only deepened students' understanding of mathematics but also ignited their passion for the subject. Jiyun's innovative use of Beegraphy demonstrates the potential of computational design to make learning more accessible, engaging, and impactful.
Introducing Our Esteemed Jurors
We are honored to welcome two distinguished professionals in the fields of computational design and architecture to our jury panel for the Education category:
- Prof. Wassim Jabi: Professor, Author, Software Developer, and Expert in Computational Methods and Spatial Analysis in Architecture.
- Laurent Lescop: Architect, Doctor in Sciences, Professor at ENSA Nantes France, and Researcher at AAU – UMR|CNRS 1563.
Their expertise and insights will be invaluable in evaluating the submissions and recognizing the most innovative and impactful projects.

What We're Looking For
We seek projects that embody the following criteria:
- Educational Focus: A clear objective to enhance learning and understanding.
- Parametrization: Effective use of parameter manipulation as a core element of the experience.
- Interactivity: Encouraging user interaction and engagement.
- Visualization: Making complex concepts visually accessible and understandable.
- Innovation: Exploring the unique potential of AR/VR technology for educational purposes.
