Nestled in the vibrant heart of São Paulo, Brazil, the Lima House emerges as a radiant example of contemporary beach-style living in an urban setting. Designed by Pietro Terlizzi Arquitetura, this 400 m² residence unfolds over three meticulously planned levels, comprising a garage, a social area, and a private wing. Captured through the lens of Guilherme Pucci, the house stands as a testament to the harmonious blend of natural materials and architectural ingenuity.

Design Philosophy

The guiding vision behind Lima House was to encapsulate the essence of a beach house within the city's dynamic landscape. Emphasizing natural materials like stones, wood, and bricks, the architects crafted a dwelling that exudes warmth and brightness, inviting the outdoors in. The house's comprehensive recreational complex, including a barbecue area, outdoor swing, and a pool with a suspended deck and spa, underscores the seamless integration of indoor and outdoor living spaces.

The Gourmet Balcony: A Highlight

One of the project's standout features is the Gourmet Balcony. This exceptionally inviting space bridges the interior with the pool area, easily transitioning into a secluded haven through the manipulation of expansive sliding doors. Adorned with brick walls, wood furniture, and Garapeira wood ceiling beams, the balcony radiates coastal charm, further accentuated by abundant natural light and lush greenery.

Recreation Area: A Nod to Roberto Burle Marx

The pool area draws inspiration from the iconic Brazilian architect and landscapist, Roberto Burle Marx. Its design, featuring a blend of straight and curved lines, mimics the organic contours of a lake, providing a modernist touch to the leisure experience. The inclusion of a suspended walkway and a swing attached to the pergola adds layers of engagement and relaxation to the outdoor experience.

Architectural and Interior Details

The pool's creation, interestingly, preceded the residence's design, underlining the architect's intent to mirror a natural lake complemented by organic landscaping. The use of natural elements and a mood board rich in freijó details contribute to the interior's organic and neutral palette, ensuring the continuity of spaces without visual barriers. This approach not only enhances the sense of amplitude but also fosters a cohesive living environment that pays homage to Brazil's rich architectural heritage.

Lima House by Pietro Terlizzi Arquitetura stands as a beacon of contemporary beach-style architecture in Brazil, showcasing the possibility of recreating the serenity and openness of coastal living within an urban context. Through its thoughtful design and material selection, the residence offers a unique blend of comfort, style, and connection to the natural world, redefining modern urban living in Brazil.
