A Holistic Approach to Office Landscapes

Situated in a fast-growing industrial zone, the CP Headquarters faced the challenge of balancing urban density with natural serenity. The landscape design emphasizes a seamless connection between the built environment and its natural surroundings. This was achieved by preserving mature trees and existing features, including a central koi fish pond, which holds cultural significance in Asia as a symbol of perseverance and good fortune.

The pond also acts as a focal point for annual community gatherings, fostering interaction among employees and guests while promoting a sense of community and relaxation. By integrating existing elements with thoughtfully designed new spaces, the project achieves a balance between tradition and innovation.

Nature-Inspired Design and Biodiversity

The project prioritizes sustainable planting by using native and adaptive plant species, creating resilient ecosystems that require minimal maintenance. These plantings invite wildlife, including birds, enhancing biodiversity and providing a more immersive connection to nature. By incorporating thermal comfort strategies, such as shaded areas and tree canopies, the outdoor spaces remain usable even in Vietnam’s high temperatures and humidity.

Three Distinct Outdoor Zones

The landscape is organized into three key zones that cater to varying daily activities:

  1. Nature Park: A looped walking and exercise path features customized hammocks inspired by local culture. This area encourages relaxation and physical activity while immersing employees in greenery.
  2. Transition Retreat Space: Designed for informal gatherings and work breaks, this area includes a grandstand and shaded seating surrounding the koi pond, creating a serene environment for relaxation, meetings, or social interactions.
  3. Diagonal Public Space: Connecting the ground-floor arrival plaza to the rooftop, this multifunctional corridor includes movable benches, planters, BBQ areas, meeting lounges, and even an outdoor cinema. The rooftop terrace enhances community engagement with edible gardens, sunset decks, and event spaces.
