Immersive Journey: Unveiling Nature's Splendor Through the Lens of Louis Cayol and Ángel Aguilera
Can Photography Capture the True Essence and Beauty of the Enchanting Forest Discovered by Louis Cayol and Ángel Aguilera?

At the start, The Belvedere was situated in a thick oak forest in Haute Savoie. This untouched natural area had stunning views of the Chaise Valley, thanks to its steep topography that marked its boundaries. To take advantage of this privileged location, a clearing was made by cutting down the original trees. This project was created to honour the original history of the place, giving it meaning and legitimacy; a wooden structure was built on the clearing from the trees that were removed. Making the invisible visible, it provides a physical and sensory experience; conveying a universal and contextual message simultaneously.
Trunks of wood, a nod to native tradition, form a hut to raise awareness of our impact on the landscape. The hut is constructed from pine wood for the frame and oak firewood for the filling. The volume of the hut, which symbolizes the number of trees lost on the site, was calculated based on the density, heights, and diameters of the trees already present. The wood used for the construction was sourced from a local sawmill located within 10 km of the site. At the end of the season, the hut is deconstructed and the wood is redistributed to local inhabitants and associations, promoting a short circuit of materials.
