The vision for the Monteiro House began with a carefully chosen plot of land. The primary goal was to create a home that interacts with nature, preserves the existing topography, and fulfills a childhood dream: a tree swing amidst the woods. By prioritizing the land’s natural features, the design preserves mature trees, harmonizing the built environment with the forested landscape.

Located in front of a tranquil condominium lake, the house is strategically oriented to ensure efficient construction, minimal masonry, and maximum use of glass. Large floor-to-ceiling windows invite natural light inside while offering uninterrupted views of the surrounding forest, emphasizing a seamless indoor-outdoor experience.

Architectural Layout and Interior Design

The Monteiro House features two elegant suites, including a main suite with a private garden that provides a personal connection to the outdoors. The living room and kitchen flow into an external patio, creating an additional living space frequently used by the family. Thoughtful interior planning ensures functional spaces, including a toilet and pantry, while maintaining a sense of openness and lightness throughout the home.

Inside, the design showcases a curated selection of furniture and decorative pieces. Highlights include iconic designs by Sérgio Rodrigues and a stunning Murano glass collection, adding personality and cultural value to the home’s modern interior.

Materials and Natural Harmony

The material palette reinforces the house’s connection to its environment. Cumaru wood and stone bricks complement the surrounding forest, creating harmony with the trees’ constant shade.
