The innovative concept of Nature Sprawl challenges this dichotomy by fostering harmony between humans and the natural environment. Designed with a vision to preserve ecosystems while accommodating human needs, this project is a groundbreaking model of sustainable architecture.

Project Concept

This extreme Saharan habitat integrates nature and human infrastructure seamlessly. Instead of massive, imposing structures, the habitat is divided into functional cross-sections, each catering to different purposes. By maintaining separate heights for human activities and natural habitats, the design ensures minimal disturbance to the ecosystem while maximizing usability.

Core Principles of the Design

  1. Modular Expansion: The infrastructure adapts to growing needs without overwhelming the environment. Functions expand independently, preserving natural elements.
  2. Eco-conscious Construction: Resistant desert plants prevent sand movement, and water storage systems combat desertification. The design respects the geology of the desert, creating secure and sustainable living spaces.
  3. Climate-responsive Architecture: Elevated structures reduce heat exposure and create natural shadows, ensuring comfort for inhabitants and optimal conditions for plant growth.

The construction process emphasizes sustainability at every step:

  • Plant Grids: Salt-tolerant plants stabilize the sand, protecting against erosion.
  • Structural Innovation: Columns are installed based on the terrain’s geological characteristics, elevating homes and water tanks.
  • Eco-preservation: The modular design facilitates resource management while safeguarding biodiversity.
