Social Core: Redefining Multifunctional Architecture
Connecting Communities Through Multifunctional Architecture and Sustainable Design
The "Social Core" project is a visionary multifunctional building located in the ZIL district. Designed to serve as a hub for housing and social interaction, the Social Core introduces an innovative blend of public and private spaces, fostering a strong sense of community.

Key Features of the Social Core Master Plan:
- Centralized Location: Positioned strategically near the Moscow River, the Social Core connects cultural buildings, office spaces, mixed-use areas, and housing blocks.
- Flexible Living Spaces: Private apartments are seamlessly integrated with shared facilities, including coworking spaces, sports areas, green spaces, and open recreational zones.
- Efficient Connectivity: The plan incorporates a transport intersection point, ensuring accessibility and smooth navigation.

Design Philosophy:
At the heart of the L-shaped structure lies the "Social Core"—a central area designed to encourage interaction among residents while balancing private and public space. This shared zone offers:
- Collaborative meeting areas
- Cafeterias and supermarkets
- Recreational playgrounds
Housing Diversity:
The building provides five distinct types of apartments, catering to varied family sizes and preferences. Each apartment includes:
- Private kitchens and bathrooms
- Balconies with direct sunlight
- Spacious living areas for personalization

Public-Private Synergy:
By balancing the proportion of private apartments and public areas, the Social Core transforms urban housing into an inclusive, interactive, and sustainable experience. Shared spaces support daily routines and create a vibrant social life.

Awards and Recognition:
This project, a collaborative effort by Deniz Tutucu, Görkem Semersatan, Yasemin Okumuş, and Emre Seyran, gained widespread acclaim as a People's Choice Award entry for Hustle Hub 2019.
Innovative Conceptual Layers:
The building design integrates layers of functionality:
- Socializing Hubs: Promoting community interaction through shared spaces.
- Green Integration: Enhancing sustainability with green spaces and environmental interactions.
- Cultural Exchange: Facilitating cultural and recreational activities within the Social Core.
This project stands as a benchmark for modern architecture, redefining multifunctional housing with an emphasis on community building and urban integration.
