SOKO SOKO Japanese Cuisine by SORA is not your typical restaurant. The restaurant's design and branding are so unique that it has gained the attention of many architectural journalists. The restaurant's design was inspired by the concept of a "Dojo", a space for martial arts training. This concept is reflected in the restaurant's spatial layout, which is explicitly divided into different functional areas.

The brand's name is also unique. The letter K in SOKO SOKO is anthropomorphic, and the k is rotated clockwise to simulate the appearance of a person studying kendo. This gives the brand a distinct and memorable look. In addition, the brand's auxiliary graphics are created with Japanese-style brushstrokes, adding a touch of Japanese culture to the design.

The warm yellow color used in the brand's color scheme embodies the sense of satisfaction brought by the brand's symbol "≥" (greater than), as well as the warm color tone of wooden Japanese furniture. This color scheme adds to the overall ambiance of the restaurant and creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The spatial design of the restaurant is also noteworthy. The inner kitchen is merged with an open way, and the overall position is placed at the front of the space. This creates a strong sense of mass and gives visitors a certain visual impact. The open shelf in the front also serves as part of the display, allowing people moving in the space to be part of the overall experience.

In terms of spatial layout and façade display, we merged the inner kitchen with an open way and placed this area in the front part of the whole space to give visitors more visual impacts and block senses even though when they haven’t entered here yet. At the same time, we put the open kitchen in the front showing people’s internal activities, in this way, the customers could feel the space itself as well as people’s interaction inside.
