About
Ana da Franca (born in Porto, Portugal) graduated in Architecture from the Universidade do Porto and achieves a Master's degree in Intervention Methodologies in Architectural Heritage by FAUP. Her first work as an architect was in the project of the Pavilion of the Future for 1998 Lisbon World Exposition, and in the same year founded Franca Arquitectura, where has been working as principal architect. Besides the architectural development and interior design, the office commits on rehabilitation, guided by the passion in intervening in the built city, and has won several awards through its path, like: National Real Estate Award 2019 - Best Building / Energy Efficiency and Best Building of the Year - Honorable Mention; International Architecture Award 2019 - First Prize Residential Category. In a global universe of over 250 projects, its work is mostly constructed in Portugal mainland and Azores, but it also has established an international experience, in Switzerland.
