I think it would be important to develop mechanisms to provide more light inside the spaces.
Congratulations for the implication on this type of projects. At the score sheet reflect my position on all 4 chapters.
Concept / Idea [3/10] Analysis of natural conditions, such as climate (wind, solar, heat). Adaptation to local conditions: Insufficient./ Feasibility of the idea: Doubtful./ Use of local materials, techniques, labour skills: Fair./ Waste management & sanitation: Insufficient or not considered. Maintenance of sanitation containers is really problematic./ Ecological consideration: Reasonable./ Flooding: Fixed system, no flexibility./ Design Output [3/10] Structural clarity and feasibility: Some innovation found in the bamboo support system, to stabilize the soil with a root-like structure. Use of paper and carboard – if protected from rain – may be fast and easy to make./ Architectural quality: Formalistic, generic, not considering local features. The overall image resembles a military camp. When expanded, the underneath of the deck structure becomes home for animals, small and large, for nesting and shelter. When expanded, the configuration creates narrow paths which become wind tunnels with great wind velocities./ Presentation [6/10] Clarity and quality of images, detailing and overall layout: Good./ Clarity of textual material, narratives, justification of design choices: Quite clear./ Spaces/Design Programme [3/10] Site plan, logistics: Formalistic, non-localized, neglecting local potential. Unrealistic deck structure./ Consideration of local socio-cultural features: Doubtful if the deeply embedded socio-cultural caste system could be erased with a design that does not provide adequate community spaces. Toilet entrances directly from kitchen facilities is a severe mistake./ Community engagement, communal spaces: Inadequate./ Privacy: Questionable. see next./ Safety: Common toilets with no escape routes cause a real safety risk in terms of sexual harassment. The large deck can become safety risk (animals, sexual harassment, sanitation maintenance). Fire safety not considered./ Adaptability to changing conditions over time: Not convincing./ Miss 1 panel?
