RE-DIRECTION
Creating a vibrant mixed-use / corrections hybrid program, this project seeks to empower self-directed achievement and to provide vital resources to the cyber job-market and community organisations. By attracting a mixed group of people, this facility acts as social catalyst to break down stigmas associated with incarceration.

Some work on the landscape connection back to the facility would enhance this project.
It could also function as holiday resort :)
I agree with both comments below, although I would expect more from a holiday resort!
I would consider it a good thing that the accommodations themselves are not punishing - our intention is to create a gradient of limitations to the freedom to leave the facility, and to foster productive growth while a resident - but that these stipulations alone be the approach to rehabilitation.
I hear you! We had debated about how the mass should meet the ground plane, whether through landscaping or architectural intervention... we landed on embracing the idea implied by the brief "As the design is considered as a replicable model, participants can create a prison design that is free from the model site first and then place it here... From this we decided to adopt the attitude that we would bring connection to nature inside the building via atrium and accessible green roofs, while distancing ourselves from a connection to location. A debatable stance, to be sure, but one we felt a natural outcome of the brief.
