RP Retinitis Pigmentosa

Today I'm going to reveal my rare disease, RP, which I've been hiding for seven years. And now, I've decided to design to promote RP for people who don't know about RP and people who suffer it. Especially because my right eye is more badly progressed due to RP, different visions in my two eyes are contrasting, and finally it expresses my overall design.

ABOUT PHOTOS I took a picture of the street at the Riverside Park, NY. At that moment, I shook the camera by mistake while it was being taken. But as a result, there were some things in the picture that shook like moving dots of light, and I felt like it was the same world that I am seeing. ABOUT MY EYES I had my eye examination on October 2nd, 2018 and I am going to show you three results. The first picture of two images is a picture of my eyes by vision screening. The dotted lines I marked show how much my eyes have been degenerated. Compared to the left eye, the right eye has much more progressed and even the center of the eye has been started near the pupil, causing a loss of sight So, I have no problem seeing things with my left eye, but I hardly recognize them with my right eye.

The pictures of my eyes by visual field testing and thickness map single exam. The Visual field test can determine how much peripheral vision I have, how much surrounding area I can see, and will locate defects in the peripheral visual field that are related to the damage occurring from RP The thickness map single exam measures my responses to flashes of light, via electrodes that are placed on the surface of my eye

I have total three systems that are all connected each other and also play roles as the core of my research how my RP collection has been built up. First, story system shows how my life has been divided by the certain events. I have three of stages, which are dark age, transitional age, and openness. These three stages are the main concept of how my collection begins.

I created the textile system that leads me to create my own textiles, such as print designs and color decision, which are based on story system as well as the comparison between visions of my left and right eye.

The main concept of this design system is to make contrast between visions of left eye and right eye. Firstly, I designed a main body structure in each stage. And, I wanted to make two completely different looks in a set of look like my eyes.
