Many urban spaces around the world qualify as privately-owned public spaces, or P.O.P.S. Unfortunately, they are poorly designed and become dead zones, devoid of human activity. These spaces, however, have the potential to be transformed into engaging occupiable public spaces for the urban population to utilize as play space, areas of refuge, or beacons.
