ELEVLOOP
ELEVLOOP is a project that aims to be not just a sports facility, but also a social and recreational center that integrates with the natural and urban fabric of Coeur d'Alene. The design is based on a fluid and organic form that adapts to the topography of the land. The building imitates the curved lines of the surrounding hills and valleys, giving the impression that it rises directly from the ground itself. This approach emphasizes the project's harmony and integration with nature. Functional Flow and Spatial Experience Exterior and Entrance: The approach to the building is surrounded by expansive landscapes and walkways. These areas allow visitors to easily access the building while also offering opportunities for relaxation and socializing. Parking areas are located close to the main entrance for easy access. Ice Rink at the Center: The heart of the building is a large, oval-shaped ice rink with a glass roof that allows for natural light. This area is designed to be flexible, serving not only as a sports activity space but also as a venue for various events (such as dance performances and ice hockey games). Multifunctional Layers: The project is enriched with spaces located on different levels. 0.00 Level (Ground Floor): This is the level that visitors first encounter, housing the main entrance, ticket offices, administrative offices, and basic services like skate rental. The ice rink is located at the center of this level. 4.00 Level (Upper Floor): This level functions as a gallery, offering a different perspective of the ice rink. The cafes and restaurants located here allow visitors to relax while watching people skate. Integration of Interior and Exterior: The wide glass facades surrounding the building keep the interior bright and allow users to maintain a constant visual connection with the natural scenery outside. This blurs the lines between the indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a fluid experience. Key Design Concepts "Four-Season Living": The project is designed to adapt to the distinct transitions between winter and summer in Coeur d'Alene. It integrates with the snow-covered landscapes in winter and the lush green nature in summer, offering a different aesthetic and experience for users in every season. Fluid Forms and Movement: The building's form emphasizes the theme of "movement" with its curved and dynamic lines. This evokes the fluid and free movements of ice skating. Community Focus: ELEVLOOP is not just a sports hall; it is a gathering point for the local community and a center where tourists can experience the natural beauty of Coeur d'Alene. The event spaces and social areas support this community function.
