The illusion of minimalism

This article addresses contemporary minimalism in architecture. It describes a shift from spatial intensification toward material and spatial neutralisation. It contrasts Miesian reduction with market-driven standardisation. It situates the argument through Heidegger, Merleau-Ponty, Zumthor and Koolhaas.
