Madrid Architecture
Architecture and interior work in Madrid, spanning renovation of 19th-century houses, mid-century apartments, and new courtyard homes.
Madrid's architecture spans 19th-century Madrid Moderno townhouses, 1950s apartment blocks, and contemporary houses built around courtyards. Designers working in the city often face dense urban plots, historic facades, and the need to introduce light and circulation into older floor plans.Community work under this topic focuses on renovation strategies for period buildings, including reopening closed-off rooms and reworking the relationship between street and interior. It also covers new residential design organised around courtyards, with projects such as the Rosa María House and the Cuarto Bocel renovation.
