9Form Follows ClimateMy design uses three similarly shaped buildings graduated in height and differentiated by green play areas. A wooden wall serving as a physical barrier to the street clearly defines the buildings as one entity. The double pitched roof resembles a family home rendering the design welcoming towards children while making use of its climatic advantages.
75Institutional Excellence AwardFlower of the DesertChoosing arid climate and Following Biomimetic design, we came to across a plant that lives in the Namibia desert, Welwitschia which is extremely sustainable in Arid areas and lives about 1000 to 1500 years. The unusual form of this plant keeps the soil under the plant cool and moist. The thick leaves lay on the sand surface and prevent wind erosion aswell.
1Unifying LoopUnderstanding the natural environment is instrumental when taking action to revive and bring new life to it. The loop intends to create spaces that encourage a dialogue between the built environment and the natural environment. While, creating space where koalas may receive the necessary attention they need.
55GEOLOGY STUDENT BERTHThe facility was designed to provide temporary housing for geology students during student internships and is located in a mountainous area in the southern part of the Crimean Peninsula. Easily erected structures ensure a careful introduction into nature, economy and environmental friendliness of production using alternative energy sources.
