FACULTY ADVISOR
Ivan Rašković
Professor, Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade
Full professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade, head of one of the Design Master Studios and graduate courses on the Department of Architecture. He deals with practice and theoretical work. For him, Architecture is, primarily, a consequence of social phenomena, processes and the value system of certain epochs. With prof. Borislav Petrovic, he publishes the monographic study ' ' Tradition – Transition ' ' (2011.) in which he clarifies the communicology aspect of architecture and the monograph ' ' Future of Housing ' ' (2017.) in which the social Sustainability of urban housing is discussed. Raskovic's creative opus includes over 20 buildings of various purposes involving residential, business, industrial, sports and religious content. The team, which Raskovic belongs to, has won more than 30 architectural competitions of which 15 first prizes. Significant works from this field of work include three first prizes for family houses in national style (1998.), a spatial scheme of the Nature Park Divčibare (2005), a hotel complex in Palić (2014) and athletic complex in Ljubljana (2017). He is a bearer of nine professional recognitions. He was the Serbian National Commissioner of the 14th and 15th Venice Biennial of Architecture (2014. /2016.). He currently performs in the post of city architect of Banja Luka in Republika Srpska.
Karim Musfy
Assistant Professor, Zayed University, UAE
Karim Musfy is a seasoned executive with a strong educational background and over 20 years of international professional experience in real estate development, consultancy, and academia. Karim is currently an Assistant Professor of Interior Design at Zayed University’s College of Arts and Creative Enterprises. Prior to moving to the UAE, Karim worked for three of the most prestigious international architectural firms based out of New York. He started his career in architecture with Eisenman Architects in NY, led by the famous architect himself; he then ran his own practice in Beirut while serving as an Adjunct Professor of Architecture at the American University of Beirut, followed by Assistant Professor at the American University of Sharjah. Karim returned to New York to join Skidmore Owings & Merrill as Associate and then moved on to Perkins & Will as Senior Associate. Karim holds a Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University. He is also a member of the Project Management Institute in New York City and the Order of Engineers and Architects in Lebanon. His work was cited in numerous publications including A+U and El Croquis and he is mentioned in Eisenman Architect’s publications Diagram Diaries and Selected and Current Works. A US citizen, Karim is fluent in both English and Arabic and has a working knowledge of French. He resides with his family in the United Arab Emirates.
Lina Ahmad
Associate Professor, Zayed University, UAE
Lina Ahmad holds a Master from the Architectural Association School of Architecture, London. she has over 10 years of UAE professional experience working across different sectors and project stages; ranging between design work from proposing alternate schemes to detailing and executing architectural packages, participating in projects’ execution and site supervision. Ahmad works at Zayed University, Abu Dhabi at the capacity of Associate Professor and also holds the position of Assistant Chair of Design. Her work has been awarded and exhibited, including contributions for the National Pavilion UAE at the 14th Venice Architecture Biennale. Her work has been published and presented at the various conferences around the world. She is passionate about Modern Heritage and is an advocate of digital fabrication technology and its impact in regional higher education and the UAE Creative Industry.
