By submitting your entry to the ACT Government (the Territory) Civic Pavilions Design Ideas Competition, you signify acceptance of all the Terms and Conditions outlined here without exception.

 

  1. Each entry must be in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and each entrant agrees to be bound by them. The Territory may refuse to award a prize to entrants who fail to comply with these terms and conditions.
  2. Entrants under 18 years of age must have the consent of their parent or guardian to enter.
  3. ACT Government Employees who are associated with this project, and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter.
  4. Entrants are permitted to enter up to one (1) design idea, per location.
  5. Anonymity of entrants is required, the only means of identifying the authorship of any entry materials will be the entrant’s registration number.  To maintain anonymity, all entrants must:
    • Ensure their registration number is the sole identifier on all submitted documentation related to the design idea (excluding the registration and entrant declaration forms).
    • Not include any name, brand, logo or any other identifier on the submitted material (excluding the registration and entrant declaration forms) that could potentially identify the entrant to the jury.
  6. The Competition Organiser will confirm the eligibility of the entrant (an eligible person, entity or team) upon registration. They will also verify that each entry has a completed Entrant Declaration Form before entries are presented to the jury. 
  7. Entrants agree to the storage of their personal data, as collected via the Registration Form and Entrant Declaration Form, on the nominated online competition platform.
  8. The entrant warrants that in preparing his/her/their entry there has been no infringement on the intellectual property rights and copyright of others, and that he/she/they have obtained any necessary licences or assignments from third parties. 
  9. Entries must be submitted by the time and date specified.  Late submissions will not be considered.
  10. The Jury’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  11. The winners will be contacted via the details provided on their entry, on 8 May 2020. 
  12. In the event that a prize is unclaimed within one week of 8 May 2020, the prize may be awarded to another winner at the discretion of the jury and this entrant will be notified and have four weeks to accept the prize.
  13. Entries will not be returned to entrants and may be retained or disposed by the Territory at their discretion.
  14. By entering the competition, the entrant agrees to grant to the Territory a royalty-free, limited licence to use (including to store, reproduce, edit and publish) entry materials for the purposes of conduct and promotion of the competition, subject to full and accurate attribution of the entrant in each instance.
  15. The competition winners shall assign to the Territory copyright of the design ideas that are selected as the winning entries.  
  16. The Territory reserves the right to:
    • Not go back to the competition winners for the next stage of design development and construction of the pavilions.
    • Make changes to the designs to facilitate the buildability of the pavilions.
  17. The ACT Government reserves the right to not proceed to the next stage and build any of the winning design ideas.
  18. On entering this competition, to the full extent permitted by the law, the entrant indemnifies the Territory, its employees and agents against liability in respect of all claims, costs and expenses in relation to all loss, damage, injury or death to persons or property as a result of entering into the competition or accepting any prize.
