Stefan Sjöberg

Stefan founded the practice with Ola Kjellander in 1998 and over two decades he has established an active and sustainable approach to the design and programming of the built environment. His work is firmly developed from an understanding and analysis of the urban fabric, culture, place, climate, use and local conditions, where his architecture always tells a story. With an engaged and creative mindset, he believes in shaping integrated and successful projects for quality lifestyles; vibrant surroundings and new placemaking. He is driven by his passion for innovation and craftsmanship, with a pragmatic and technically coherent methodology. His design vision is to contribute to neighborhoods and meeting places, for healthy and thriving communities. Stefan has received a range of awards and prizes for KS competition-winning designs and completed buildings. Alongside his architectural practice, Stefan is a frequent public speaker and initiates research through think tanks, workshops, and exhibitions.
Oscar Miguel Ares
CEO, contextos de arquitectura y urbanismo, Spain
Óscar Miguel Ares (Valladolid, 1972). Architect since 1998 (School of Architecture of Valladolid). In 2010 he became Doctor in the Universidad de Valladolid – with the thesis “GATEPAC 1928-1939” – being his tutor D. Juan Antonio Cortés. Since 2013 he is a projects professor in ETS of Architecture of Valladolid. He has collaborated with the International University Isabel I of Castile and has taught as a guest lecturer at the ETSA La Salle (Universidad Ramón Lluch, Barcelona), Universidad San Pablo CEU (Valladolid) and at School of Design de la University Al Ghurari (Dubái, EAU). Since March 2012 he has been working alone, together with the architect Bárbara Arranz under the firm Contextos de Arquitectura y Urbanismo. As an architect he has won several competitions and his work has been awarded at the XIV Spanish Architecture and Urbanism Biennial 2018; selected for the 11th Ibero-American Architecture and Urbanism Biennial (pending result); in the FAD 2018 Awards; Spanish Architecture Awards 2017; American Architecture Prize (New York, 2017); International Architecture Awards 2018 granted by The Chicago Athenaeum / European (Athens, 2018); The Plan Award, (Venice 2018); the Architecture Awards of Castilla y León (2009, 2011, 2016 and 2018), as well as in the Sustainable Construction Awards of Castilla y León (2017 and 2018). His works have been published in numerous national and international magazines, among which stands out Arquitectura Viva, Tectónica, Domus or Baumeister.
Nicola Probst
Owner, Nicola Probst Architetti, Switzerland
Nicola Probst studied architecture at Supsi in Lugano, Switzerland, and at the University of California, Berkeley, U.S., where he received his Master of Architecture in 1999. Professional practice in the offices of Ivano Gianola in Mendrisio, Loom Studio in the U.S. and Burkhalter & Sumi Architekten in Zurich. In 2002 established his own professional practice in Lugano, and from the same year he is assistant of architectural design at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio, Switzerland, with professors Aurelio Galfetti, Manuel e Francisco Aires Mateus, Henk Hartzema and Peter Wilson. He has been visiting critic at the University of California, Berkeley, at Politecnico di Milano, at Supsi in Lugano and at Zhejiang University, China. From 2015 is lecturer of architectural design at Supsi in Lugano, Switzerland. The work of Nicola Probst Architetti has been published on A10, Abitare, AIT, And, ArchDaily, Archi, Architectural Review, Domus, Dwell, L’Arca.
