Challenge to photograph details
Overview
Fig: 1 – Part of a whole (Credits-Verne Ho)
PREMISE
A detail is a part of the whole, yet it has the power to characterize and define systems/elements/structures. Their nature can tell us specifics about the material, conceptual or structural idea of the conceived design.
While we amuse over details of great architectural, historical or functional character. Everyday life and its spatial details remain remarkably vague.
Architecture dominates every single part of our lives subconsciously acting with ourselves through minor shifts and adjustments in our everyday environments. With the addition of a wind chime against the windowpane, a hint of colour through a bright pot of plant, or the polished wooden knobs of the door, details like these dominate our lives in a variety of ways and form the fabric of our immediate environments.
This photo series aims to make participants observe their surroundings and document structural/elementary/lifestyles details in the context of architecture.
