GRAPHIC DESIGN COMPETITION
UNI invites Architects, Visual/Graphic Designers, and the student fraternity for the second edition of its series of Graphic Design Challenges as part of its unit block, Graphis. Challenges under ‘Graphis’ are carefully curated to bring out the best of visual communication and graphic language to educate, reflect, and inspire change with respect to pertinent world issues through visuals.
A picture is worth a thousand words, and Graphis abides by that adage, to inspire participants to try and portray complex ideas and emotions through a still image.
The competition understands the importance of efficient and effective communication in the digital age and aims to recognize innovative ideas and techniques that aim to redefine the notions guiding conventional graphic design, and foremost, create impact.

ILLUSTRATE THE HALL OF RECORDS
Most of the great wonders of the world, including the seven major ones, are rumoured to have some or the other myth that revolves around something destroyed, buried or hidden around it. Being historically important monuments with a rich past, most of these places have been of keen interest to researchers and archaeologists.
The interest to study and determine the past and its utility has intrigued many researchers. Some aspects of the research have key revelations in terms of traditions, medicine or practices that could determine how the civilization evolved to what it stands today. The famed yet unconfirmed ‘Hall of records’ is believed to be found below the paws of the largest monolithic statue.
The Sphinx is a sealed-off set of rooms that are believed to contain copies of the records that were lost in the fire that destroyed the Library of Alexandria. The records are said to have, among others, the secrets to extraterrestrial civilisations and other important world events. The objective is to make an architecture poster/artwork in the form of a visual illustration that depicts how this ‘Hall of records’ will look like, considering it has never been found.
