Gustavo Guimarães Architecture & Urbanism is an international office focused on developing simple, enduring and thoughtful designs. Ideas have no scale, we work from abstract no scale projects to large city projects. Founded in 2010, studio is situated in the center of Porto. Currently developing several projects in the city, we respect our context and heritage and build on the traditions of Portuguese architecture. Gustavo Guimarães (Porto, Portugal, 1977) graduated from Faculty of Architecture of Lusiada University of Porto (FAULP) in 2001. He did his internship with ANC arquitectos in Porto, Portugal, in 2002 and 2004 and worked at OMA-Rem Koolhaas, Rotterdam, Holand, between 2004 and 2007 developing several large-scale projects including the New Jeddah International Airport in Saudi Arabia, Hermitage Museum Expansion in Saint Petersburg, Russia and New Court Rothschild Bank in United Kingdom among many other projects. In 2007 begins his journey as an author in Angola where he develops several projects, embracing local culture values. In 2010 he establishes Gustavo Guimarães Architecture & Urbanism. In 2012 his work Miss’OPO is chosen for 1º edition of selection “Respect for Architecture” Porto 2012 organized by Ordem dos Arquitectos – Secção Regional Norte (OASRN).

Raulino Silva was born in 1981, in the city of Vila do Conde (northern Portugal) and is an architect at the Escola Superior Artística do Porto. Since 2011, he has his own office in Vila do Conde, where with his team of architects he has developed several housing projects and some equipment. He has regularly participated in publications, exhibitions, workshops and conferences. Most notable are the participation in the Architecture Workshop of Bergamo in Italy, organized by the Faculty of Architecture of Milan and the participation as a speaker in the Perspective Europe Forum in Venice, of The Plan Magazine. In 2020 he was invited by the Board of ESAP to an Open Class of the Integrated Master of Architecture Seminar in Porto. Also by invitation, he was an international jury of architecture at the Uni platform, Bee Breeders, Young Architects Competitions and “Rethinking The Future Awards 2021” Prize. In 2019 he received the medal of merit for the city of Vila do Conde, delivered by the City Council and, in the same year, was considered as one of the best young European architects by winning the Europe 40 Under 40 Awards of The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. The work built has received several international awards, most notably the 2A Continental Architectural Awards, organized by 2A Magazine, the International Architecture Awards, promoted by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, the IF Design Awards, organized by the IF International Forum Design GMBH, the Iconic Awards, organized by the German Design Council and the Baku International Architecture Award, promoted by the Order of Architects with the support of the International Union of Architects.
