32do Younghee Café and Restaurant by Terasu + FFFAAARRR + stof – A Multisensory Dining Experience in Bali
32do Younghee Café and Restaurant in Bali offers immersive seasonal dining, blending Korean cuisine, Indonesian ambiance, and multisensory, architecturally rich interiors.
The 32do Younghee Café and Restaurant in Seminyak, Bali, is a groundbreaking multi-dining destination that seamlessly fuses Korean culinary heritage with the vibrant Indonesian environment. Designed collaboratively by Studio Terasu, FFFAAARRR, and Korean design studio stof., the 2800 m² project opened in 2024 and has quickly become a landmark for innovative hospitality design. The concept brings together a café, restaurant, and cocktail bar—named 32do, Younghee, and SJ2.0—to create a cohesive, immersive gastronomic journey.

A Minimalist Facade with Maximum Impact
Upon approaching the café and restaurant, visitors are greeted by a minimal, symmetrical façade that conceals a rich and dynamic interior. The elongated plot of approximately 3,000 m² unfolds a series of spaces that embody the concept of “relative novelty”, exploring the sensory expansion that the brand aims to offer. By integrating East Asia’s four seasonal landscapes and the fluid forms of water—an iconic element of Bali—each space immerses visitors in a constantly evolving environment. The design encourages exploration and interaction, making every moment a unique experience.

32do: Spring and Summer Immersion
The first experience begins in 32do, representing spring and summer. This café space evokes the freshness of flowing water, leading visitors through a journey toward a vibrant summer valley. Natural light filters through skylights, highlighting high ceilings, irregular terrazzo flooring, and lush plantings that bring a lively, organic energy to the space. Functionally, 32do combines a roastery and chocolaterie, seamlessly connecting various service areas into a singular experiential landscape.
Visitors encounter the “summer monsoon rain” feature, where multiple rain chains descend through a void, creating an immersive auditory and visual experience. Wooden bridges and staircases interspersed throughout the space allow for intimate interaction with the seasonal elements, enhancing the connection between nature and architecture.

Younghee: Autumn Elegance and Culinary Warmth
Following the path outside 32do, visitors approach Younghee, revealed through clusters of trees and accessed via a hammered copper door at a serene reception. This space channels the autumn pond, offering a calm, reflective environment for fine dining and communication with chefs. The interior is layered with copper leaf modules inspired by floating leaves, bamboo-shaped partitions, red-toned linen fabrics, and stone walls, all illuminated by soft natural light. Together, these design elements create a warm, poetic atmosphere that captures the essence of autumn, inviting visitors to linger and savor each culinary moment.

SJ2.0: The Winter Finale
The final chapter of the 32do Younghee journey, SJ2.0, is designed to evoke an exotic winter landscape, completing the sensory exploration of the four seasons. With this space, the project fully realizes its ambition to create a multi-sensory dining journey, where architecture, nature, and gastronomy converge.

A Collaborative Architectural Vision
The project exemplifies the synergy between Indonesian and Korean design practices. Studio Terasu, FFFAAARRR, and stof. combined their expertise to craft spaces that balance visual storytelling, material innovation, and guest experience. Erreluce contributed to the lighting design, ensuring each seasonal setting is perfectly illuminated, enhancing both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
By combining innovative spatial design, seasonal storytelling, and culinary artistry, the 32do Younghee Café and Restaurant transforms dining into a holistic, immersive experience. It stands as a benchmark for contemporary restaurant architecture and hospitality design in Southeast Asia.
