Contemporary Eyewear Store Design: Lunet Boutique by Bogdan Ciocodeica Studio
This article explores the innovative contemporary design of Lunet Boutique by Bogdan Ciocodeica Studio, a standout eyewear store in Bucharest.
The Lunet Boutique in Bucharest, Romania, is an exemplary case of contemporary eyewear store design. Created by the renowned Bogdan Ciocodeica Studio, this 70 m² retail space opened in 2023, merging traditional and modern elements to offer a unique shopping experience. This article delves into the design philosophy, architectural details, and innovative elements that make Lunet Boutique a standout project.

Design Philosophy
The Lunet Boutique is a nod to classic eyewear stores, reimagined for the modern era. The design strips away superfluous elements, distilling shapes and volumes to their essence. This minimalist approach results in a playful, almost pixelated environment that focuses on essential details, creating a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Architectural Elements
Central Display Modules
At the heart of the boutique are the central display modules, which blend an industrial aesthetic with a warm, inviting atmosphere. These modules, crafted from brushed metal and mirror cladding, provide individual trying stations that offer a more intimate customer experience. This concept aligns with the original Lunet store design, enhancing the sense of personal service.

Wooden Vertical Pieces
The store features vertical wooden pieces that mimic structural columns. These pixelated versions of columns introduce a whimsical element, infusing the space with a sense of playfulness. This pixel pattern is echoed in the rug details and the reception desk, creating a cohesive design language throughout the store.

Color and Texture
Burnt Sienna Walls
The walls between the wooden pillars are painted in a rich burnt sienna color, adding warmth and depth to the space. A translucent latex curtain in front of the walls creates a blurry, vision-like effect, enhancing the store's optical theme.

Functional Spaces
Optometrist Examining Room
The examining room maintains a minimalist and austere design, with colorful walls and a mural serving as a backdrop for the projection of letters. This functional yet vibrant space ensures that the practical needs of the store are met without compromising on style.

Customer Experience
The Lunet Boutique prioritizes the human user, promoting quality design and creating a special environment for clients. The store educates customers on the potential of interior architecture, offering a contemporary, comfortable, and welcoming space that stands out in the retail landscape.
Lunet Boutique by Bogdan Ciocodeica Studio is a masterful example of contemporary eyewear store design. By reinterpreting traditional elements and focusing on essential details, the boutique offers a unique, playful, and intimate shopping experience. This project not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of retail spaces but also sets a new standard for customer-focused design.
