Dali Twins House: A Contemporary Family Home Designed for Twin Living in Bauru, Brazil

Designed by Laercio Fabiano Arquitetura, the Dali Twins House is a contemporary residential project located in Bauru, Brazil, thoughtfully conceived to accommodate the daily life of a family with twin children. With a built area of 229 square meters, the house balances comfort, functionality, and accessibility, responding directly to the evolving needs of family living through spatial clarity and integrated design solutions.

The architectural concept prioritizes family interaction, fluid circulation, and practical zoning. The floor plan is organized to provide both shared and private spaces, ensuring that everyday activities unfold naturally while maintaining a sense of intimacy and independence for each family member. The residence includes three suites, with a master suite dedicated to the parents and two identical bedrooms designed specifically for the twins, reinforcing equality, flexibility, and comfort within the domestic environment.

At the heart of the home lies the social area, where the living room, dining space, and kitchen are fully integrated. This open-plan configuration enhances visual continuity and encourages constant interaction among family members. Large openings connect the interior to the exterior, allowing natural light and ventilation to shape the atmosphere throughout the day, while strengthening the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces.

The kitchen, conceived as a central gathering point, features a generous island that supports meal preparation, casual dining, and shared moments. More than a functional workspace, it acts as a social anchor, reinforcing the idea of togetherness that defines the project. Material choices and finishes contribute to a warm, contemporary aesthetic, aligning durability with visual coherence.

Outdoor living plays a crucial role in the project’s design strategy. The house extends into a gourmet backyard area that includes a pool and garden, creating a safe and inviting environment where children can play freely while remaining within the parents’ line of sight. This outdoor zone promotes leisure, relaxation, and family bonding, blurring the boundary between built space and landscape.

Accessibility and practicality are key principles guiding the design. An external communal bathroom, designed to be accessible and functional, supports outdoor activities and everyday routines. The house also includes a separate laundry area, ensuring service spaces remain discreet yet efficient. Additionally, a small office facing the street serves as a multipurpose room, inspired by the parents’ childhood memories, and can function as a workspace or a flexible area for children’s activities.

Throughout the project, Laercio Fabiano Arquitetura demonstrates a sensitive understanding of contemporary family life, translating daily habits and emotional memories into architectural form. The Dali Twins House stands as an example of human-centered residential architecture, where thoughtful planning, accessibility, and spatial integration create a home that evolves alongside its occupants.
