High-Rise Building on Europaplatz: Iconic Office Tower in Berlin by allmannwappner
High-rise office tower in Berlin’s Europaplatz by allmannwappner features flexible workspaces, panoramic views, aluminum rod façade, and sustainable urban design.
The High-Rise Building on Europaplatz, designed by allmannwappner, stands as a striking new landmark in Berlin’s Europacity district. Developed by CA Immo for its portfolio, this modern office tower not only defines the city skyline but also forms a cohesive triad with existing high-rises, contributing to the dynamic urban identity of the Europaplatz quarter.

Architectural Design and Façade Expression
The tower confidently establishes a dialogue with its neighboring buildings: the Tour Total with its vertical concrete structures, and the 50 Hertz Building, noted for its horizontal metal bands. In contrast, the Europaplatz high-rise introduces an innovative façade featuring an undirected grid of condensing aluminum rods, blending rhythm and transparency in a contemporary expression of urban architecture.

The façade design is particularly striking: it folds subtly on the lower floors while ascending smoothly toward the top. The aluminum rods, densely placed at the upper levels, create a visually uplifting effect, allowing panoramic views across Berlin. At lower levels, the rods fan out, forming a delicate curtain that softens the building’s interface with the street and enhances visual connectivity. On the two-story first floor, the curtain façade opens generously toward Europaplatz, creating an inviting gesture for pedestrians and visitors.

Interior Layout and Flexible Office Spaces
The office tower, exclusively leased to KPMG, is organized around a compact central core that maximizes spatial efficiency. This arrangement ensures flexibility for various office configurations, accommodating everything from individual workstations to open-plan layouts suitable for modern collaborative work environments. A five-story podium complements the tower, providing additional office space, while a central hall serves as the communicative hub, connecting the tower and podium seamlessly and reinforcing a sense of openness toward Europaplatz.

Sustainability and Engineering
The project integrates advanced energy planning by Transsolar Energietechnik GmbH, while structural engineering was executed by RSP Remmel + Sattler Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH. The surrounding landscape, designed by Topotek1, enhances the urban experience, providing a welcoming public realm that complements the tower’s architectural expression.
With a total area of 31,165 m², the High-Rise Building on Europaplatz exemplifies contemporary high-rise architecture that balances iconic design, functional flexibility, and sustainable urban integration.
