Homa House by HOMA Studio – A Contemporary Residential Masterpiece in Cyprus
Homa House by HOMA Studio in Cyprus blends monolithic architecture, earthy tones, and warm interiors, creating a contemporary, inviting residential sanctuary.
Homa House, designed by HOMA Studio, is a striking example of contemporary residential architecture that merges modern design with a profound connection to its natural context. Situated in Cyprus, this 170 m² residence explores the intimate dialogue between architecture, landscape, and daily living, redefining what it means to inhabit space.

Rooted in the Earth
The design of Homa House begins with a fundamental respect for the land. The home emerges organically from the earth, not just as an acknowledgment of the site’s heritage, but as an invitation to reimagine modern living. Its architectural language is simultaneously protective, quietly experimental, and thoughtfully composed, unfolding through a series of spatial narratives that engage both the eye and the mind.

Monolithic Volumes and Architectural Presence
The residence is composed of three monolithic volumes that rise naturally from the terrain, with earthy tones drawn directly from the soil. These sculptural forms are punctuated by carefully carved gestures, creating passages and entrances that are at once welcoming and enigmatic. These openings lead into the heart of the home — a central courtyard, reminiscent of traditional family gathering spaces, bringing together history and modernity in a seamless spatial experience.

Light, Shadow, and Materiality
Upon entering Homa House, the interplay of light and shadow becomes immediately apparent. Robust exterior walls give way to interiors filled with warmth, natural hues, and subtle references to the surrounding landscape. The home’s spatial journey is carefully choreographed: from private sanctuaries to semi-private areas, culminating in communal spaces that foster connection and intimacy. A long corridor flows through the volumes, terminating at a veranda that unites the house, offering a cohesive and harmonious environment.

Interiors: Warmth Meets Contemporary Elegance
Inside, the home’s austere exterior transforms into a rich, inviting interior marked by wood finishes, concrete details, and thoughtfully integrated materials. Each space balances openness with privacy, creating an environment that is both protective and inviting. The design reflects a modern reinterpretation of traditional architecture, resulting in a residence that is functional, aesthetically compelling, and deeply connected to its environment.

A Home of Purpose and Refinement
Homa House exemplifies how residential architecture can be both experimental and grounded, offering a sanctuary for its inhabitants while engaging thoughtfully with the surrounding landscape. Every element, from the material palette to the spatial composition, reflects a commitment to a refined, contemporary lifestyle that respects both tradition and innovation.
