House CX3 by LM Arkylab: An Immersive Residential Experience Rooted in Nature and Spatial Fluidity
House CX3 blends concrete, brick, and wood in a nature-immersed design, fostering family connection and seamless indoor-outdoor living.
Located in the Tierraverde residential complex in Jesús María, Aguascalientes, Mexico, House CX3 by LM Arkylab is a 521 m² single-family home designed for a five-member household. The project’s core intention is to create immersive spatial experiences that prioritize family living, social interaction, and harmonious integration with nature.
Positioned on a 750 m² plot, the residence responds to its natural surroundings with a design strategy based on immersion, enabling every interior space to interact directly with fragments of the surrounding landscape. The home unfolds through a series of interconnected volumes that blur boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces, capturing natural light and vegetation as integral design elements.


Ground Floor: Spatial Continuity and Introverted Warmth
The west-facing façade, oriented toward the vehicular access, adopts an introverted form to mitigate harsh sunlight. A recessed pedestrian entrance to the north leads to a welcoming vestibule enhanced by a small garden, subtly guiding residents and visitors into the heart of the home. A large glazed opening on the façade provides access to a rooftop terrace above the garage, offering views toward the Cerro del Muerto.
The ground level is dedicated to social spaces—a fluid integration of the living room, dining area, and kitchen, framed by intermediate gardens and open-air terraces. These elements create a dynamic flow that connects the interior with the surrounding green areas. At the eastern edge, a social lounge and bar pavilion offer direct access from the communal gardens of the condominium.



Central Axis: The Heart of the House
A linear staircase along the north side—accompanied by a water mirror and internal garden—acts as both a symbolic core and a functional pivot. It defines the spatial hierarchy and represents the home’s "heart and lungs," fostering vertical connectivity while enhancing the emotional and sensory experience of moving through the house.


Upper Floor: Private Wings and Garden Orientation
The upper floor is divided into two distinct zones. To the east lies the master suite, oriented toward the garden and bathed in natural light from the south and east. It includes a generous dressing room and ensuite bathroom. On the west, children’s bedrooms open eastward, sharing serene views of lush gardens and towering trees.


Materiality: Crafting Atmosphere with Earthy Tones
Material choices play a crucial role in defining the home’s spatial character. The ground floor is constructed with exposed concrete, vertically textured to convey durability and timeless elegance. The upper volume features custom-manufactured oversized bricks, which conceal structural elements while offering a unique tactile finish. These are lightly coated to retain their natural texture.
Interior warmth is brought in through wooden beams, tzalam wood cladding, and expansive marble slabs, reinforcing the home’s grounded, natural palette. This material dialogue emphasizes the architects’ vision of connecting the home with the earth, climate, and lifestyle of its residents.
