House in Brianza by Studio Gerosa: A Contemporary Villa Near Lake Como
House in Brianza by Studio Gerosa is a modern villa near Lake Como, blending concrete, wood, glass, and integrated landscaped gardens.
Located in the scenic region near Lake Como, Italy, House in Brianza is a striking example of contemporary residential architecture, designed by architect Andrea Gerosa and engineer-architect Franco Gerosa. Completed in 2024, this 400 m² villa showcases a masterful balance between modern minimalism and the natural beauty of its surroundings.

Contemporary Design Harmonized with Nature
House in Brianza, designed by Studio Gerosa, is a modern residential masterpiece that blends sleek architecture with the surrounding landscape of Lake Como. The villa’s expansive glazed façade and floor-to-ceiling windows visually dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior spaces, creating an immersive living experience where nature and design coexist seamlessly.
Collaborating with landscape architect Valerio Cozzi, the architects have crafted a garden that integrates directly with the architecture, ensuring that greenery and outdoor spaces are not just ornamental but essential to the home’s character.

Spatial Organization and Layout
The villa’s layout is designed to optimize both functionality and aesthetic appeal:
- Living Area: Positioned to the northeast, the open-plan living space overlooks a striking 10x4-meter infinity pool clad in classic travertine, extending the indoor experience into the outdoor environment.
- Sleeping Quarters: Arranged in a connected sequence from the entrance, these private spaces maintain a smooth, uninterrupted flow throughout the home.
This thoughtful spatial arrangement enhances privacy while maintaining a sense of openness and connectivity.

Structural Design and Materials
The villa’s structure is anchored by a cast-in-place concrete perimeter, finished with a specialized plaster that offers durability and minimal maintenance. This single load-bearing element supports the entire envelope, ensuring stability while keeping the design sleek and minimal.
Complementing the horizontal development, the home features a large gabled roof with 10.5-meter overhangs, creating dramatic architectural lines while providing shade and protection from the elements.
Materials were carefully selected to highlight the villa’s modern aesthetic while integrating natural textures, including wood, concrete, and travertine, reflecting Studio Gerosa’s commitment to both elegance and practicality.

A Vision of Modern Italian Living
House in Brianza is more than a residence; it is a contemporary vision of Italian luxury living. By seamlessly merging modern architecture, sustainable materials, and landscape design, Studio Gerosa has created a home that is at once functional, visually striking, and deeply connected to its natural surroundings.
