Design Philosophy and Sustainable Features
Emphasizing Sustainability and Cohesion
The design ethos of Athletes Village Lot E2B is deeply rooted in sustainability. CoBe Architecture & Paysage has developed a common construction system featuring post-and-beam structures that integrate wood and low-carbon concrete. This approach not only reduces the carbon footprint of the development but also ensures architectural harmony across the sector.


Innovative Construction Techniques
The project's commitment to sustainability is further highlighted by its massive use of wood, universal accessibility, and the harmonization of building colors. These elements collectively enhance the eco-friendliness of the buildings and ensure a visually cohesive aesthetic that respects the existing urban fabric of Saint-Ouen.


Urban Integration and Community Impact
Blending New and Old
Athletes Village Lot E2B is strategically divided into two distinct yet complementary sections: "The Villas" and "The Belvederes." "The Villas" section aligns with the domestic suburban fabric of Old Saint-Ouen, featuring low-rise buildings adorned with wood and lime plaster. In contrast, "The Belvederes" represents the transition to a more metropolitan area, with taller buildings marked by metal and terracotta, reflecting the historical industrial activities of the area.


Central Urban Role of Lot E2B
Located at the convergence of significant public spaces—Finot street, Ampère Square, and the Coteaux Alley—Lot E2B acts as a central figure in the neighborhood. CoBe Architecture & Paysage has utilized a homogeneous architectural language to enhance this central role, with varied building heights that respond to the surrounding urban landscape.


Architectural Details and Living Spaces
Common Plinth and Facade Design
The three buildings within Lot E2B share a common plinth made of mass-stained fluted die-cast precast concrete and sandblasted precast concrete lintels, which not only unifies the visual aspect of the block but also underscores the sustainable construction methods. The facade design is enriched by an innovative interplay of railings and metal profiles, which can be transformed into pergolas, adding both functionality and aesthetic value.


Enhancing Residential Experience
The design ensures that the transition from public to private spaces within the buildings is seamless and inviting. Large halls lead to naturally lit corridors, establishing a direct relationship between the dwellings and the external environment. This connection is further emphasized through large windows and long balconies that offer expansive views and abundant natural light.
