Soulstory Experience Centre: A Cultural Convergence of Italian Elegance and Indian Craftsmanship
The Soulstory Experience Centre in Kolkata fuses Italian luxury furniture with Indian craftsmanship, creating an immersive, culturally rich, sustainable showroom experience.
Located in Kolkata, India, the Soulstory Experience Centre by Abin Design Studio is more than a furniture showroom—it is an immersive design destination that redefines the concept of luxury retail. Spanning 1035 m², this project, completed in 2023, is a visionary celebration of Italian furniture design harmoniously fused with the rich traditions of Indian artistry. Photographed by Ashish Sahi, the showroom showcases world-class pieces from renowned manufacturers including Baxter, EDRA, Hands& Minds, Hessentia, Merediani, Porro, and Siematic.

A Journey Through Cultures and Craftsmanship
The Soulstory Experience Centre elevates furniture display to an experiential journey. Inspired by the intricate details of Indian temple architecture, the interior features meticulously crafted Plaster of Paris moldings that act as sculptural backdrops for the Italian luxury furniture. The result is a dynamic visual narrative where textures, forms, and cultural influences seamlessly interact, inviting visitors to explore the dialogue between Italian sophistication and Indian cultural vibrancy.
By combining Italian design finesse with Indian heritage, the project addresses the challenge of harmonizing distinct design sensibilities. This innovative approach resonates with Kolkata’s culturally diverse environment, offering a showroom that celebrates both art and craftsmanship in an authentic, engaging, and contemporary context.

Design Excellence and Sustainability
The showroom was executed with precision and attention to detail, involving collaborations with master craftsmen and artisans. Sustainable practices and innovative materials were prioritized throughout the project, ensuring an environmentally responsible approach without compromising on aesthetic excellence. This commitment to sustainability enhances the showroom’s ethos of cross-cultural respect and celebration of artistic convergence.
Every corner of the Soulstory Experience Centre tells a story—one that merges the timeless elegance of Italian furniture with the intricate artistry of India. From the sculptural moldings to the luxurious seating areas, the space offers visitors an immersive sensory experience, making it a benchmark for future showroom and retail design in India.
