Discover the Marvels of Cloud-Inspired Architecture: House in the Clouds by MALVINA ZAYAT estudio de arquitectura
Explore cloud-inspired architecture in MALVINA ZAYAT's masterpiece, 'House in the Clouds,' seamlessly blending nature and design.
Embrace the allure of cloud-inspired architecture with the remarkable "House in the Clouds" designed by MALVINA ZAYAT estudio de arquitectura in the heart of Córdoba, Argentina. This architectural masterpiece, nestled in a native forest in Salsipuedes, takes on the form of a levitating white prism, seamlessly merging with the surrounding mountains and clouds.
A Surreal Entrance into Nature's Embrace
Accessed via a cobblestone street, the house's long side faces north, offering a surreal entrance into nature's embrace. The uneven terrain creatively houses cistern tanks and parking, leading visitors on a journey from earth to air. The integration of stone beds and steps, culminating in a hanging staircase, sets the stage for an extraordinary architectural experience.

Spatial Harmony: From Earth to Air
As visitors ascend the hanging staircase, they are greeted by a north-facing gallery, revealing a sliding wooden door that opens to a visually stunning interior. The interplay of light on vermillion-colored wood paneling creates a scenographic spatial experience, culminating in the heart of the home—the social area—offering unparalleled communion with the mountains.

Innovative Construction: Merging Nature with Design
The construction approach of "House in the Clouds" reflects a deep consideration of the site's characteristics, including terrain, thermal amplitude, and vegetation. A predominantly dry construction system, composed of metal profiles assembled on-site, ensures efficiency and minimal environmental impact. The integration of folding panels mitigates winds, filters sunlight, and enhances home security.

Linear Elegance and Functional Design
Spanning 18.50m by 5.50m, the house is linearly organized, with a service island separating the social and private areas. The south side features a storage unit, providing both thickness to the envelope and functional utility. The north and west sides are fully open, seamlessly extending interior activities to the gallery and embracing the natural surroundings.

Material Harmony: From Sky to Interior
The exterior of the house presents a clear geometry, appearing as a veil on the northern perimeter and a compact composition on the southern side. The color, arrangement, and suspended design establish an intimate dialogue with the sky and clouds. Internally, the warmth of eucalyptus phenolic is explored in ceilings, walls, doors, and furniture, creating a seamless connection with the natural environment.

Experience the enchantment of "House in the Clouds," a testament to cloud-inspired architecture that seamlessly blends innovation, nature, and design. MALVINA ZAYAT estudio de arquitectura has crafted a dwelling that not only captivates the eyes but also harmonizes with the surrounding landscape, offering a unique and immersive living experience.
