GREEN STADIUM MONTPELLIER

The concept behind the design was to create a stadium whose function would go beyond today's standards for a sports arena. Closed structures and a very narrow target group are replaced here with open form and function. Together with the technologies used, the organic shape of the stadium - with its wavy, horizontal lines - represents the ecological aspects.

This library is an amalgamation of modern technology and traditional learning methods. The focus is on the experience of users with every space being easily accessible. It features a central library core that hosts all functions related to study, research and storage of knowledge. The aim of this concept is to reinforce the idea of the library.

CO-LIVING HOUSE

The residents of this house are six people from three different generations. They are three couples, aged 20, 40 and 60, respectively. They have known each other for a long time and feel like family to one another. On this basis, the first decision taken was for a building whereby everything is shared. There are no walls in the house.

VILLA SAVOYE REINVENTED

The new Centre for Architectural Knowledge is designed to teach about his achievements. It is based on Le Corbusier’s belief that anyone can reinvent themselves. Instead of making drastic changes to the Villa Savoye in order to accommodate the extensive catering programme for visitors, it was decided to keep the monument in its current state.

Koh Phangan Airport, Thailand: The main concept behind the airport is to capture the beauty of the island of Koh Phangan. To show this beauty in the best possible light, we positioned the airport in the form of a full circle between land and sea. As such, it encloses the water, forests and beaches.

Reviving old railway lines: the concept focuses on opening up the sunken railway space for the public. The idea of La Recyclerie café is used as the basic function of the site. Urban farming, fish farming and workshop along with spaces like reading rooms and cafés makes the public participation possible.

The increasing influence of technology is also leading to changes in education. The many technological innovations will completely change the way we live. In order to keep up with such a rapid increase in knowledge, students have to constantly educate and reinvent themselves again. There will no longer be rigid ways of teaching and learning.

This a unique sustainable and digital school in the Netherlands. Two existing schools in two neighbouring locations in Maastricht are merging into a new school on a new location in that city. This particular location was chosen to strengthen the weak social structure of the two neighbourhoods.
