Th e idea of having the program underground is very well thinked; I think meeds to talk a little bit more with the urban fabric geometrically; same thing happens with the two elements at the ground level.

Inspired by the traditional Chinese life style and ancestor hall, I deconstruct the traditional building‘s space features and integrate them into a DOME HALL. It can accommodate a variety of worship activities, and become a special and solemn landscape of the urban area.

Since the cemetery is not a place that people want to see every day, this complex is veiled as a park structure that develops in time(in eternity). The architecture of the object is represented by three types of spaces: closed-memorial complex and restaurant; semi-open-columbarium; open - park, located on the roof of the complex.

Between Memory and Oblivion: Mourning courses

The present senior thesis addresses the creation of a refugee cemetery on the island of Lesvos. Placing great emphasis on notions such as memory, loss and mourning, we try to design this peculiar burial ground. Collective memory and private memory are united in a transitional space, where one is being prepared for what is to follow.
