Op(En)closed attempts to engage with the issues of environmental and material sustainability in Ethiopia. With deforestation at a critical point and alternatives to timber having enormous embodied energies, the project proposes utilising Africa's largest yet under-utilised bamboo industry as the primary means of construction.
