The initiative came about as a result of seeing how the "wetland" environment in Hangzhou, China, was being impacted by rapid population increase. The traditional and present construction methods are no longer appropriate. China's population will keep expanding, and if curent construction methods comtinued, this ecology will be utterly destroyed.
