RIVER AND THE COMMUNITY, MANDLA

The thesis understands the relationship of the river and the community, through the case of the temple-ghat city of Mandla, looped by river Narmada. It studies the intricacies and dependencies between the river and the communities thriving along it, the impact of urbanisation on the indigenous occupations and the sense of identity that the city is adopting.
