The sweeping cladding pattern is visually compelling and provides good articulation to the façade. Project stacks nicely and unit arrangement relative to each other is well considered. The massing approach and relation to the sidewalk is well considered – the overhang over the front door is a nice feature and is well integrated in the design. The building section details are well developed and very helpful in explaining the building assembly. The repetitive nature of the system sems more suitable for shorter buildings 4-5 units rather than 20 units as indicated in the site plan – consider breaking up the system into smaller segments that can give the urban fabric more permeability. The window composition has been resolved from the point of view of the external elevation however there is not much light to the units so this could be addressed. If the reason for the small window widths is because of the curved walls then this should be iterated upon and the design of the form and units reconsidered as natural light in a living space is a critical issue in housing. Given the compact design of the units, it does not seem appropriate to use a spiral stair. There are a lot of areas around the stair that cannot be used well. The stair also requires its own self supporting structure, which increases costs.
Good proposal, which takes in consideration modularity and the possibility for expansion. More development of the massing, sizing and floor plans is necessary
